KPK Affirms Google Cloud Investigation Is Different From Chromebooks At The AGO
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirms that the investigation into alleged corruption in the procurement of Google Cloud by the Ministry of Education and Culture is different from what has been done by the Attorney General's Office. The Bhayangkara Corps is said to be handling hardware affairs, namely Chromebooks.
"It's different. Why, Chromebooks are the procurement of hardware," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters quoted on Friday, July 25.
"For Google Cloud, it is one of the software. The software is to place data, store data from all over Indonesia, all schools in Indonesia," continued Asep.
Asep said that this procurement occurred in 2020 or during the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, Google Cloud was one way to store data related to online learning.
"This is what we are investigating, this is what we are investigating. Is this happening too expensive, or what. This is what we are investigating," he said.
