RI Is Looking For A Solution For The Former TNI Marines To Become Russian Soldiers Want To Become Indonesian Citizens Again
JAKARTA - The government is looking for the best solution regarding the petition of a former Marine Corps (AL) soldier, Arta Kumbara, who wants to return to being an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
"We are looking for the best solution," said Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi when responding to reporters' questions at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Friday, confiscated by Antara.
Prasetyo stated that the government is coordinating intensively with various relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, as well as the ranks of the TNI, especially the TNI Commander and the Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL).
According to Prasetyo, who is also the spokesman for the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the process of handling the petition cannot be carried out in a hurry, because it involves legal aspects, immigration, to strategic considerations from military institutions.
Prasetyo said that the government is committed to responding to this case carefully and wisely in order to ensure a right and fair decision.

To return to being an Indonesian citizen, Satria must apply for naturalization, but he is still under military contracts in Russia and faces legal consequences for the desertion in Indonesia.
