There Is Tension At The Thailand-Kamboja Border, The Indonesian Embassy In Bangkok And The Phnom Penh Urge Indonesian Citizens To Be Calm But Alert
JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok and Phnom Penh are Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Thailand and Cambodia do not panic, remain calm but alert, following tensions on the borders of the two countries.
In his upload on the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh's Instagram, he appealed to Indonesian citizens to remain calm, not panic, but be vigilant, responding to the situation on the Cambodian border in Oddar Meanchey Province and Preah Vihear Province, as quoted Thursday, July 24.
The Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh appealed to Indonesian citizens to avoid or limit travel to affected areas, as well as follow developments from official sources, both from the Cambodian authorities and the official media of the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok in its upload on Instagram appealed to Indonesian citizens in Surin Province, Buri Ram, Si Sa Ket, Sa Kaeo, Trat and Ubon Ratchatani to observe the development of security conditions from official sources, following local government instructions.
"Based on self-report data, currently there are 15 Indonesian citizens spread across the area around the Thailand-Kamboja border, namely in Trat, Sa Kaeo and Ubo Ratchathani," wrote the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok in its upload.
"There is no information regarding the affected Indonesian citizens," continued the Indonesian Embassy.
The Indonesian Embassy also appealed to Indonesian citizens to remain calm, not to panic and be alert, and to avoid traveling to the Cambodian-Thailand border.
The two Indonesian Embassys appealed to Indonesian citizens in both countries who have not reported themselves to immediately report themselves, provide hotline contacts if Indonesian citizens need and continue to monitor the situation.
