Pramono Opens Jakarta LRT Discourse Extended To Dukuh Atas, Needs IDR 2 Trillion
JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has opened a discourse to continue the construction of the Jakarta LRT to the Dukuh Atas area, Central Jakarta. Currently, construction work on the Jakarta LRT phase 1B is being built until Manggarai Station.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that if the Jakarta LRT route is connected to Dukuh Atas, the DKI Provincial Government must disburse costs of up to IDR 2 trillion.
Meanwhile, in the phase 1B Jakarta LRT project which stretches from Velodrome Station to Manggarai, the DKI Provincial Government has allocated a budget of IDR 4.1 trillion from the APBD.
"From Manggarai to Dukuh Atas, it costs approximately 2 trillion rupiah," said Pramono at North Boulevard LRT Station Summarecon Mall, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Thursday, July 24.
Pramono believes that the plan to expand the affordability of the Jakarta LRT network will contribute to unraveling congestion due to the transfer of use of private vehicles to public transportation.
Currently, the average number of new Jakarta LRT users operating from Pegangsaan Dua Station to Velodrom only reaches 5 thousand passengers every day. Later, if the construction of the follow-up station is completed and operational, Pramono is optimistic that the number of passengers will increase.
"We believe that when it comes to Manggarai, because this will be connected to other transportation modes, whether it's KRL and so on, and of course Transjakarta, it is estimated that it can reach 70 thousand per day," Pramono explained.
"It will be even more increased if later this reaches Dukuh Atas. If it reaches Dukuh Atas, then per day it can reach 100 thousand. Thus, connectivity in Jakarta is indeed considered seriously and in depth better," he continued.
