Launching Deadline on May 6, SM Entertainment and MGM Worldwide Television Group will partner to create a K-pop audition in the United States. Mark Burnett, creator of The Voice competition will host an event with Lee Soo Man as the founder of SM.

The purpose of holding this audition was to find members for the new NCT sub-unit, NCT Hollywood. Currently, the NCT group has four permanent sub-units namely NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV.

For NCT Hollywood, they will recruit male members aged 13-25 years. Those selected will take part in a bootcamp training in Seoul and NCT members are projected to help as mentors and judges.
