OKI Strictly Condemns Knesset's Voting Regarding Israel's Sovereignty In The West Bank
JAKARTA - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemns the vote by Israel's Knesset yesterday in support of the enactment of what is referred to as Israel's sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
The OIC called the Israeli Parliament's actions a dangerous escalation aimed at establishing the illegal colonial occupation and undermined the two-state solution.
In an official statement released on Thursday, the OIC reiterated that Israel, as a occupation force, has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
The statement also emphasizes that the occupation and occupation posts of Israeli occupation are illegal under international law, relevant UN resolutions and International Court Advisory Opinion, according to WAFA July 24.
The OIC also reiterated its call to the international community to fulfill its responsibilities, take the necessary political and legal steps to support rights that cannot be lifted from the Palestinian people, including the recognition of the Palestinian State, the full membership of the United Nations, and efforts to end the illegal occupation of the invaders.
As previously reported, Knesset approved a non-binding motion in favor of West Bank annexation in a vote held on Wednesday, according to The Times of Israel.
