Indonesia Gets Six Medals From The 2025 Table Tennis World Championships

JAKARTA Indonesia secured as many as six medals from the 2025 Table Tennis World Championships or the 2025 ITTF World Para Elite which took place at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, 18-22 July 2025.

The six medals consist of one gold medal, one silver medal, and four bronze medals. The only gold medal was contributed by the 20th grade mixed doubles through Komet Akbar who was paired with Russian athlete Olga Gorshkaleva.

Then the silver medal was won through the 8th grade men's doubles pair, Adyos Astan/Yayang Gunaya. The pair eliminated the 2024 Paris Paralympic gold medalist Kim Jung-gil/Kim Young-gun, in the semifinals.

The four bronze medals were obtained by Komet Akbar (10th grade men's singles number), Banyu Tri Mulyo (8) men's singles number 8), Comet/Banyu Tri (age 18 men's doubles number), and from the 22nd class men's doubles number through Muhammad Alfigo Dwi Putra who was paired with South Korean athlete Kim Bogyeom.

The coach of Indonesian table tennis, Andre Gunaya, said that this result showed significant progress compared to last year's achievements.

"The success of punctuating/Ya who beat the gold medalist at the Paris Paralympics is an unexpected progress."
