KKP Collaborates With The Red And White Kopdes To Absorb The Sea Results Of Fishermen Maximumly
JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said the Red and White Fisherman Village Program (KNMP) would be connected to the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdeskel).
He conveyed that the integration was intended to absorb the fishery products of fishermen and cultivators optimally.
"One of the KKP priority programs, namely the Red and White Fisherman Village (KNMP), will later be integrated with KDMP," Trenggono said as quoted from his written statement, Thursday, July 24.
Trenggono said the Red and White Kopdes will function as a business entity. The cooperative provides services for the business needs of the marine and fisheries community at the KNMP location.
According to him, Kopdes does not only form cooperatives. The main goal is to create a strong, independent, transparent and sustainable village business ecosystem.
"Let's build cooperatives from the village for a prosperous society and an advanced Indonesia," he said.
Furthermore, said Trenggono, his party fully supports the implementation of the Red and White Kopdes program. The presence of the program is expected to facilitate marketing of catches and cultivation.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto had inaugurated 80,081 institutions for the Red and White Village Cooperative in Bentangan Village, Central Java on Monday, July 21. A number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet attended the event.
"According to what was conveyed by Mr. President Prabowo, the Red and White Kopdeskel will facilitate the marketing of fishery products for fishermen. This is also to increase public protein consumption, with the distribution of fishery products throughout the village," said Trenggono.
In this case, the KKP is tasked with fostering and empowering the implementation of the Red and White Kopdeskel program in accordance with the mandate of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 9 of 2025.
The KKP has mobilized fishery extension workers to facilitate the formation of fishermen's cooperatives, fish cultivators, processors and marketers of marine products as well as salt farmers.
In addition, the KKP is also involved in the task force to accelerate the formation of cooperatives. The agency is the coordinator for Region IV which includes East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara.
Of the total 80,081 cooperatives that have been formed, there are 108 villages that are pilot (mock up) and ready to operate.
