Ahok Lawan BPK: Kala Gubernur DKI Jakarta Pertanyakan Kredibilitas Pengawas Keuangan Negara

JAKARTA - Andil, the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) often makes local officials dizzy. BPK's financial analysis is often used as a benchmark for whether or not the leadership of regional heads is. Whoever the regional head is given a reasonable status with exception (WDP) is considered a nightmare.

Ahok has felt it. The Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2014-2017 era did not accept that his regional financial status was labeled by WDP. Ahok accused BPK of being credible many of its electoralizations are inappropriate and favoritism. Sometimes when BPK gives a good assessment to regions whose regional heads are corrupt.

BPK is widely known as the supervisor of the use of state money. The institution works independently and cannot be intervened by the government. This narrative made BPK dare to give the WDP predicate in the 2014 DKI Jakarta financial report.

BPK found that 70 findings had the potential to harm trillions of rupiah. BPK's suspicions were also present in the provision of land in the Sumber Waras Hospital area worth Rp. 880 billion. The report clearly did not please Ahok.

The Governor of DKI Jakarta considers the BPK to be no longer credible as an independent institution that oversees the use of state money. BPK is considered not to have a clear standard establishing an area without exception (WTP), WDP, or Unreasonable (TW).

Ahok then gave an example when Jakarta was inserted by Fauzi Bowo (Foke). The BPK actually sided with the Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2007-2012 era and gave the title of DKI Jakarta WTP financial report. In the era that fixes many problems - including finance - the relics of the Foke era were even WDP.

Ahok didn't stop there. He tried to expand his suspicions regarding the unprofessionality of the BPK. He emphasized that many regions were given WTP status and then their regional heads became corruption suspects.

Ahok took the example of a province near Jakarta, Banten. Ahok considers Banten often gets WTP status. However, the Governor of Banten, Ratu Atut Choisiah, was actually involved in a case of misuse of budget in the procurement of medical equipment and infrastructure for Banten Province in 2011-2013. BPK should have caught this problem.

"I said go to the BPK, try to look at Banten, get a WTP anyway? Even though there are cases of medical devices, the governor is also processed. So what has BPK been doing so far? This is not for me the issue of WDP or what, because I was given a disclaimer and there was no business. Because the one who determines me to be governor is a DKI resident, not a BPK," said Ahok as quoted on the detik.com page, July 8, 2015.

Ahok still considers the financial audit conducted by BPK unreasonable. He continues to question BPK's credibility. This condition made Ahok challenge the BPK. Ahok is willing to be audited openly. However, BPK is challenged to open it with assets from the chairman to its members to the public.

Ahok considers the disclosure of the wealth of BPK members as a solution to increase public trust in BPK. Moreover, BPK audits are often seen as full political elements. Later, the public can assess the reasonable credibility of the chairman to members of the BPK.

Starting from total assets, to the way they get their wealth. Everything was asked to be shown to the public. Ahok views that so far the BPK is like a 'goal', no one dares to disturb and question its performance.

Ahok confidently believes that not all BPK officials work honestly. This narrative makes him even more curious about the money and assets owned by BPK members. If their assets are odd, then BPK members are asked not to need to audit regional financial reports because they have problems.

BPK did not respond to Ahok's wishes. They consider their report to be correct and according to procedures. If Ahok is dissatisfied, the person concerned is asked to report the BPK to the Court. Because, responding to Ahok can only make noise and the benefits are unclear.

"I want to challenge all existing officials at the BPK if you need to prove the taxes you pay, how much is your property, how much is the cost of your life, where do your children go to college. I want to know everything.
