KKB Papua Comes Up Again, Tembaki TNI-Polri Apparatus Patrols

JAKARTA - The Papuan armed criminal group (KKB) has been acting up again by shooting a joint TNI-Polri team in the mountains of Ilaga. The joint team is on the hunt for the KKB that spreads terror.

"That was true on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 19.07 WIT, there was a shootout between the TNI-Polri and the Papuan terrorist group in Kimak Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Kombes AM Kamal, Thursday, May 6.

In the shootout, there were no fatalities from the joint military-police apparatus.

"There were no casualties, all personnel are safe and secure," he said.

After the shootout, some of the community secured themselves to the city of Ilaga for fear of further terror from the KKB.

"From the results of monitoring, there were a number of residents who were afraid while securing themselves to Ilaga City because of fear," he explained.

Currently, the apparatus is still on alert to anticipate the interference from the KKB which is declared as a terrorist compound.

"Currently the TNI-Polri are pursuing and increasing security around Ilaga City. We anticipate if they carry out an attack at any time," he concluded.
