Rinjani Climbing Line Is Completely Closed Starting August 1

MATARAM - Mount Rinjani National Park Center (BTNGR) closed all climbing routes of Mount Rinjani in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara starting August 1, 2025.

The head of the TNGR Yarman Center said the closure of all hiking trails was based on the results of a coordination meeting to follow up on the handling of accidents that occurred on the Segara Anak Rinjani Lake Line.

"This closure is valid for 10 days from August 1 to 10, 2025," said Yarman in his statement in Mataram, Wednesday, July 23, as reported by ANTARA.

The closure of the six hiking trails is stated in the announcement letter number: PG.5/T.39/TU/KSA.04.01/B/07/2025.

According to him, a coordination meeting to strengthen aspects of safety and preparedness for emergency incidents on Mount Rinjani organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs and the Office of the Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation of the Ministry of Forestry on Tuesday (22/7) decided that all routes should be temporarily closed.

Prospective climbers who already have entrance tickets (etickets) from 1 to 10 August 2025 can reschedule (reschedule) for the remainder of the climbing season in 2025.

"The climber can claim a refund for the purchase of entrance tickets and insurance if he cancels the climbing plan on Mount Rinjani," he said.
