Mikel Arteta Eyes More Deal This Summer

JAKARTA - Mikel Arteta has promised that Arsenal will recruit more players in the transfer market.

He hinted more new players would join their pre-season tour of Asia pending Viktor Gyokeres' arrival from Sporting CP.

Arsenal arrived in Singapore on Sunday, July 20, 2025, ahead of a friendly match against AC Milan and Newcastle United before leaving for Hong Kong to face Tottenham Hotspur on July 31, 2025.

The trio of new players -Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga - are included in the 30 squad.

Meanwhile, the 52 million signing player, Noni Madueke, has been given a break after his involvement with Chelsea at the 2025 Club World Cup.

Interestingly, Cristhian Mosquera reportedly followed Arsenal to Singapore after an agreement with Valencia was reached.

European football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, said both parties agreed with the transfer of 17 million pounds to the defender.

"I can't comment on any player who hasn't been part of our team yet."

"When we have something concrete to offer to any player, we will."

"The transfer window is still long. We are still looking for new players. In terms of the number of players, we are lacking. We have to improve the depth and quality of the squad."

"We continue to search the transfer market. Until then, focus on the players we have and focus on them. I am very happy with what I have seen in the last 10-15 days."

"It feels like shaking trees again. Bringing new faces, they bring new spirits, as well as new energy."

"We also recruited very important players. I think everyone feels that the level should be different. That's what we are looking for," said Arteta.

The Gunners' activity in the transfer market this summer is a step to end the five-year wait without the Premier League trophy, after finishing second in the league's last three seasons.

"They are completely sure (they can win something). The good thing is I don't need to convince them. They know how good they are and how close we are."

"In the end, those details encourage you to move forward, which we all want."

"The important thing is to work hard and realize where they are. The basic things we need throughout the season to put us on the best competitive opportunity and the biggest opportunity to achieve our goals."

"It is a daily job. It is also the responsibility of each individual," said Arteta again.
