Immediately Call The Head Of The IKN Authority, The DPR Will Ask For Preparedness To Become The Active National Capital

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, responded to the suggestion that the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) be used as a state-owned office. The proposal was previously revealed by the Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR from F-PDIP, Aria Bima.

Meanwhile, a member of Commission VI from the F-Democrat, Herman Khaeron, suggested that IKN be used as an office for the Ministry of Forestry.

Rifqi assessed that the proposals to function IKN were very good because this project had consumed a budget of up to hundreds of trillions of rupiah. He also said that his party would summon the Head of the IKN Authority to discuss existing suggestions.

"That's good for the proposal, the basic principle is like this. This IKN has already consumed a budget of approximately Rp. 130 trillion from the state budget. Then the investment contractual is worth approximately Rp. 59 trillion," said Rifqi at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 23.

According to Rifqi, the readiness of IKN to become the State Capital can accommodate approximately 15 thousand state civil servants. With the concept, everything is facilitated by houses or flats for free by the state.

"The offices are ready. Because it is the President's choice, the government to activate a number of ministries including state-owned enterprises, as suggested by several factions, I think it is positive and that is in line with the wishes of the NasDem party," said Rifqi.

The member of the DPR's NasDem Faction said that his party proposed that President Prabowo issue a Presidential Decree to accelerate the development and transfer of ministries/agencies to IKN. And suggested that Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka be based there.

If you have not been able to determine IKN as the state capital by issuing the Presidential Decree, NasDem assesses that the moratorium needs to be considered.

"Well, that's why my party, the NasDem party, asked for a quick decision by the President so that we immediately decide IKN as the State Capital through the Presidential Decree," he said.

However, the head of the commission in charge of government affairs said he would summon the Head of the IKN Authority to examine more deeply the function of IKN in the future. Summons for a meeting is scheduled after the recess period after Indonesian Independence Day in August.

For information, the Indonesian House of Representatives will hold a plenary closing session tomorrow and undergo a recess period starting Friday, July 24.

"We will summon (Head of Authority) IKN after the recess period and we want IKN to once again affirm its readiness to become an active National Capital," concluded Rifqi.
