New! KESDM Asks All Mining Companies To Re-submit RKAB 2026 Starting October 2025
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is determined to apply for a Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) to once a year. This new policy begins by requiring all mining companies to start reporting RKAB in October.
Previously, the RKAB approval mechanism for the Production Operation stage had been given for a period of 3 (three) years through the digitalization system, namely e-RKAB, but was later changed to once a year.
Director General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Tri Winarno said this policy still applies to companies that have obtained RKAB blessing for the next three years. Thus, all companies are required to apply for a new RKAB for 2026.
"Later on October, continue again. Another birthday for 2026," said Tri, quoted on Wednesday, July 23.
Previously in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission XII of the DPR RI, Bahlil had accepted the proposal of council members to evaluate RKAB every year.
"Starting today, by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, we will accept a proposal from Commission XII for us to make RKAB per year," said Bahlil, Wednesday, July 2.

In accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 25 of 2024 concerning Procedures for Preparation, Submission, and Approval of Work Plans and Budgets as well as Procedures for Reporting on the Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activities, mining companies can apply for RKAB to produce for three years.
The policy initially aimed at providing business certainty for mining companies, as well as simplifying the administrative process without reducing the substance in the evaluation process.
However, Bahlil assessed that the granting of RKAB approval within three years caused mining production activities to become difficult to match the world's demand.
