Print Indonesia's Digital Talents, Central Government Prepares AI Talent Factory Program

JAKARTA - As an effort to produce 12 million digital talents by 2030, the Ministry of Communication and Digital will accelerate the formation of the national artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem through the AI Talent Factory Seed Program.

"What we are doing is strengthening collaboration between governments, industry players, universities, communities in the context of digital talent education in Indonesia," said Deputy Minister of Communication and Trade Nezar Patria in its official broadcast.

According to him, Indonesia currently only has around 9.3 million talents. To bridge the deficit of around 3 million talents, the Ministry of Communication and Industry is finalizing AI Talent Factory as a center for digital development of talent based on research and industry.

The AI Talent Factory program is expected to be one of the AI hubs that connects digital talent with industry, plus problems that can be solved with AI adoption in each sector.

Talents trained through this program will be directed to be directly involved in national strategic projects, covering priority sectors such as health, education, financial services, and agriculture.

He also emphasized that AI Talent Factory will be the government's next initiative from existing training programs such as Digital Talent Scholarship and the Digital Leadership Academy.

"The government has been upskilling our talent digital since the last five years. Today we at Komdigi are working quite intensely and really within three months we can finish the process as AI Talent Factory," he said.
