Involve Bank Jakarta To BI, Pramono Launches Market Digitization Competition

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung launched a market digitization competition through collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Bank Jakarta Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Perumda Pasar Jaya.

This activity aims to accelerate digital transformation, especially in payment systems in markets managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya.

Through the 2025 Market Digitalization Competition, Pramono carries four big targets. The targets are increased merchant welfare, transaction efficiency, local tax optimization, and eradicating market thuggery.

"I proposed this competition. The goal is clear, so that traders are familiar with digital systems such as QRIS and EDC," said Pramono at Mayestik Market, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 22.

According to Pramono, digitalization is not only a matter of speed of transaction, but also a matter of security and order.

"If there is no cash circulating, the room for pickpockets and extortion is also lost," he said.

Pramono said that the Jakarta Provincial Government cooperated with Bank Indonesia (BI), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Perumda Pasar Jaya as the main partners. In fact, the race assessment was fully handed over to BI and OJK to ensure transparency.

"The provincial government does not interfere in judging. We want this competition to be credible and objective," said Pramono.

In addition, currently, Pramono said 20 markets have participated in this program, and are targeted to reach all 133 markets in Jakarta.

"Digital transformation is no longer an option, but it must be. The market must be the epicenter of the people's economy which is clean, orderly, and competitive," he said.

President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H Widodo, said that the digitization of the traditional market sector is an important part of modern and inclusive urban economic development.

"Bank Jakarta sees market digitization as a momentum to provide a more efficient, transparent and affordable transaction ecosystem. We fully support this program as a form of real contribution to Jakarta's local economic growth," said Agus.

As a participant in the banking digitalization aspect, Bank Jakarta is tasked with assisting four markets that have been determined based on market class mapping and the number of places of business (TU), namely Mayestik Market (Class A) 1,516 TU; Koja Baru Market (Class B) 1,056 TU; Cengkareng Market (Class B) 1,065 TU; and Pondok Bambu Market (Class C) 375 TU.

The total number of places of business that will be served by Bank Jakarta in this program reaches 4,012 TU.

In the banking aspect, Bank Jakarta will be assessed in three main categories, namely Best and Active Literacy (July 21 August 9, 2025); Limited Financial Access (January Period August 9, 2025); and Best Financial Digitization.

"The transformation of the market is not only the government's agenda, but also a joint commitment of all economic actors. Bank Jakarta is ready to be an important part of this change," said Agus H. Widodo.

In addition, a joint commitment was also signed with a program to increase market digitization in Jakarta.

The signing was carried out by the President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo together with the President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Agus Himawan and other banking institutions.
