RI Teachers With Singapore To Strengthen TNI Cyber Defense

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) will strengthen Indonesia's cyber defense by learning from Singapore's cyber dimension.

This collaboration was discussed in a meeting between the Indonesian Minister of Defense (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and the Singapore Military Commander (Chief of Defense Singapore Armed Forces Vice) Admiral Aaron Beng at the Ministry of Defense Office, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 22.

Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General Frega Ferdinand Wenas Inkiriwang said that his party felt they had to learn from Singapore, whose cyber defense was considered stable.

"We want to learn from Singapore and Singapore also want to share their knowledge because they are already small as a new dimension," he told the media crew at the Ministry of Defense office, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 22, which was confiscated by Antara.

Frega explained that Singapore already has a Digital Intelligence Service (DIS) which is equivalent to land, sea and air dimensions under the auspices of the military. The new Matra has been formed by the Singapore Government since 2022.

With this collaboration, Frega hopes that the cyber defense of the TNI and nationally in general can strengthen in maintaining national strategic data.

When asked about the concept of cyber defense cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore, Frega was reluctant to explain in detail.

Previously, the government had echoed the plan to create the fourth dimension of the TNI, namely Matra Siber.

The plan had been rolled out at the DPR and at the executive level, namely the Ministry of Defense and the TNI at the end of President Joko Widodo's administration.

However, until now, the plan has not been discussed and is being followed up by the current government.
