Barito Pacific, A Company Owned By The Prajogo Pangestu Conglomerate, Pays Rp259 Billion For Dividends
JAKARTA - PT Barito Pacific Tbk will distribute dividends of 18 million US dollars for the 2020 financial year to its shareholders. In the previous year, the company coded as BRPT shares was absent from distributing dividends.
Based on information obtained by VOI, the dividend distribution result has been decided at the annual shareholders meeting (AGMS) which will be held on Wednesday, May 5. With today's estimated exchange rate at IDR14,439, the dividend will be equivalent to IDR259.9 billion.
For information, the company owned by conglomerate Prajogo Pangestu recorded a profit for the year attributable to the parent entity of 36.27 million US dollars throughout 2020. This achievement decreased 17.8 percent compared to the acquisition of 44.13 million US dollars in 2019.
Thus, the amount of dividends distributed is equivalent to approximately 50 percent of Barito Pacific's total net income. On the other hand, the company did not pay dividends for investors for the 2019 financial year.
The last time BRPT distributed interim dividends was in December 2018, at which time the company distributed an interim dividend of 17.23 million US dollars. This amount is equivalent to 24.48 percent of the net profit as of September 2018 valued at US $ 70.38 million.
In the distribution of dividends at that time, Barito Pacific used BI's middle rate on December 6, 2018, which was IDR 14,507 per US dollar. This means that BRPT has distributed dividends of Rp. 250 billion.
