Prabowo's Joke To Sri Mulyani About Free Generic Drugs: Mother Will Be Loved By All Villages

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his wish that every village has a pharmacy that sells generic drugs.

He also joked to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani about financing free medicines for poor people at the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes).

The joke was conveyed by Prabowo in a speech at the launch of 80,000 Red and White Kopdes in Bentangan Village, Wonosari, Klaten Regency, Central Java.

"Then, there must be a pharmacy for every village that sells generic drugs. And for those who really can't afford it, we try not to pay. We try. Those who seek the Minister of Finance. The more stressed it is," Prabowo said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, July 21.

Prabowo continued his jokes. He said this plan was noble like Mulyani's name.

In fact, Prabowo said, if the plan was realized, Sri Mulyani would be loved by all villages in Indonesia.

"But that's okay ma'am, this is noble. Mother's name is Sri Mulyani. So it must be noble, ma'am. Mother will be loved by all villages throughout Indonesia. Let the president be fierce," he said.

Regarding the Red and White Kopdes, Prabowo said that each Kopdes will be equipped with a harvest storage warehouse with a cooling facility. The goal is to prevent commodities such as mangoes and fast fish from being damaged.

"So, the results (of harvest) are not yet able to be sold, simpen. In the warehouse there is a cooler. So if the mangoes can be guarded first. Can make ice in each village. The fishing village will have a bigger cooler to make ice and to protect the fish," he explained.

Tak hanya gudang, sambung Prabowo, nantinya juga akan dibangun gereja sembako unit simpan pinjam hingga apotek yang menjual obat generik.

“Dananya dari mana? Dananya sudah tersedia karena dananya untuk desa ada Rp1 miliar per tahun, dan sudah berjalan 10 tahun. Yang repot Rp1 miliar kadang-kadang bekasnya enggak kelihatan. Para kepala desa tolong ini untuk rakyat,” ujarnya.
