TPUA Alludes To Jokowi's Reason For Postponing Examination: Sick But Present At PSI Congress

JAKARTA - The Defenders Team of Ulama and Activists (TPUA) and Roy Suryo claimed that the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had been absent from investigating cases of alleged slander and defamation at Polda Metro Jaya.

TPUA's attorney, Ahmad Khozinudin, stated that from the information he got Jokowi's absence from the summons for examination for reasons of illness.

"Actually, there has been a call to Joko Widodo to attend. It's time when I don't know. But Joko Widodo admitted that he was sick and asked to be re-scheduled," Khozinudin told reporters, Monday, July 21.

However, that reason is considered very strange. Because, when he argued that he was sick, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia was actually present at the opening of the PSI Congress in Solo on July 19.

"But strangely for the police summons he admitted that he was sick and could not attend the Polda Metro Jaya but he was present on the political agenda at the Indonesian Solidarity Party Congress," he said.

Therefore, investigators are asked to immediately examine Jokowi. Because, according to the rules, handling a case must be the reporting party who is asked to pay attention to it first.

Do not let, said Khozinudin, his client or the alleged reported party be examined first. So, it seems as if there are irregularities in the examination process.

"So it must be Joko Widodo's brother who was first examined. Do not let him suddenly check, call our client. Meanwhile, Joko Widodo has not been investigated," he said.

Regarding this claim, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi did not give an answer or respond when asked the truth about Jokowi's absence.

Previously reported, Polda Metro Jaya stated that the alleged defamation case related to allegations of fake diplomas reported by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has been upgraded to the investigation stage.

The decision to increase the status of the case is based on the results of a case conducted by the State Security Sub-Directorate (Kamneg) on Thursday, July 10.

"Based on the title of the case last night, the first police report was that the reporter was a brother of an HJW engineer, in the investigation process that had been carried out in the case title, it was concluded that an alleged criminal incident was found so that the case was upgraded to the investigation stage," said Ade.
