Deputy Governor Rano Karno Brings Good News, Houses Affected By Fires In Bukit Duri Tebet Will Be Renovated

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will renovate houses affected by fires on Jalan Kutilang, RT006/RW002, Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta.

"I received information that there was a house affected. God willing, we will renovate the house. Hopefully the mother (the affected victim) who left the place can continue her life again," said Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, July 20.

The house renovation, he said, could only be carried out after the police completed the examination and removed the yellow line at the affected location.

"The walls of the house can only be done if the police line has been removed. Because now it is still being investigated by the police," said Rano.

He when visiting victims affected by the fire who took refuge in the RW field, Jalan Katik RT 02/09, Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta, ensured that the basic needs of the residents were met.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), he said, provided assistance in the form of basic necessities, toiletries packages, school children's needs packages and ready-to-eat food.

"What is certain is that the health team will all stay here. The social service will all stay here until the problem is resolved. That's what we can do," said Rano.

Then, without mentioning the nominal, he said the DKI Provincial Government together with the DKI Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) also provided compensation to the families of the victims whose members died.

"We provide compensation for the two children who died. Then we provide compensation for the families of the children who died, one person we also provide compensation for. I don't want to mention the amount," said Rano.

Meanwhile, data from the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as of today recorded that the fire on Jalan Kutilang Number 28-2, RT 06/RW 02 Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta, occurred on Saturday 19 July 2025 at 06.20 WIB.

It is suspected that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.

The object affected by the fire includes two houses and one boarding house.

A total of 16 families (KK) or 46 people were affected by the incident. Of these, four of them died and four were slightly injured.

Currently, as many as 10 families or 25 people are displaced in the RW001 field, Jalan Katik RT 002/001, Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta.
