Cloudflare: China Becomes The Main Target In DDoS Attacks In Q2 2025
Cloudflare has just released a report on the threat of Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) for the second quarter (Q2) of 2025.
Overall, Cloudflare blocked 7.3 million DDoS attacks during Q2 2025. Despite a decline from 20.5 million attacks in the previous quarter, this figure still increased 44 percent compared to the same period last year.
The 10 countries that were targeted for the highest DDoS attacks were China in the first position, followed by Brazil in second place, Germany in third, as well as India and South Korea in fourth and fifth positions.
Meanwhile, in the sixth to tenth positions followed by the Turkish state (#6) Hong Kong (#7), Vietnam (#8), Russia (#9), Azerbaijan (#10).

This can be seen from the largest recorded attack volume during this quarter which has been recorded with a magnitude of 7.3 terabits per second (Tbps) and a volume of 4.8 billion packages per second (pps).
To defend against the threat of DDoS, Cloudflare advises companies to implement cloud-based DDoS protection that can track attack traffic fingerprints in real time.
