Irony, Hundreds Of Huadi Nickel Alloy Employees Are Laid Off Unilaterally Without Certainty And Notification
JAKARTA - The head of the Pharmaceutical Union of the Mining and Energy Industry (SBIPE) PT Huadi Nickel Alloy Indonesia (HNAI) accused the company of layoffs unilaterally to employees.
According to Abdul, as many as 350 employees of PT Huadi Wuzhou Nickel Industry and 600 employees of PT Huadi Yatai were laid off without certainty by the company.
"Whouzo 350 (employees) and Yatai 600 were laid off without certainty," he said when confirmed by VOI, Friday, July 18.
He accused the layoffs were carried out covertly under the pretext of being laid off by the company.
Abdul also accused that the industrial activities carried out by Huady were proven to have carried out air and water pollution and damaged the rice fields, coasts, and living spaces of the people around the Bantaeng Industrial Estate (KIBA), South Sulawesi.
For this reason, Abdul representing the labor union asked the Bantaeng Regency DPRD to form a special committee (Pansus) to investigate labor and environmental violations by PT Huady and its subsidiaries.
"(Demanding) the DPRD forces companies to pay all labor rights, including delayed salaries, overtime wages, and severance pay according to regulations," he continued.

Then, the union also asked the DPRD to stop layoffs and unilateral housing that were carried out without legal basis and without deliberation.
"Immediately apply the UMP in 2025 and make sure the company complies. Finally, the DPRD and Regional Government must side with workers and residents, not only on investment and capital owners," he said.
