3 People Died, KDM Children's Marriage Public Entertainment Abolished
Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin stated that the activities of the People's Party in the Pendopo and Square areas of Garut Regency, West Java, in a series of official wedding parties were not continued or abolished.
The decision was taken following the incident of three people who died as a result of being crammed into the venue.
"We together forkopimda stated that further activities were postponed or abolished," said the Garut Regent during a press conference related to the incident at the People's Party at the Garut Hall, reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 18.
He said that the People's Party activities received enthusiastic responses from the public to attend them, resulting in pressure.
Especially during the day's event, he said, the crowd came to the location more and more at around 13.00 WIB or after Friday.
"Regarding this ceremony, people want to be together happy, and many are here," he said.
The Regent of Garut together with elements of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of Garut Regency held a meeting related to the activities of the People's Party which caused casualties.
The Regent conveyed that Garut Deputy Regent Putri Karlina also expressed her concern about the incident.
"Convey deep concerns," he said.
The activity is a series of wedding parties for Garut Deputy Regent Luthfianisa Putri Karlina with Maula Akbar, the son of West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi (KDM) who ended in chaos during the entertainment and free meals agenda at Garut Square and Garut Regency Hall, Friday afternoon.
