Man In Cianjur Suicide Jumps From Tower As High As 70 Meters

The Cianjur Police, West Java, confirmed that the man with the initials UJ (31) committed suicide by jumping from a tower as high as 70 meters in Jamali Village, Mande District.

Mande Police Chief Iptu Yudi Heryanadi said the victim died at the location after jumping from the top of a tower belonging to one of the providers installed in the area. Previously, residents had seen the victim daydreaming in the tower area.

Joint officers immediately evacuated the victim's body to the Cianjur Sayang Hospital.

"Residents had asked about the presence of victims in the tower area daydreaming while smoking cigarettes, and they answered that they were tired of living, not long ago the victim started climbing the tower to the top and immediately jumped," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 18.

The police have asked for statements from witnesses and the family who stated that the victim had suffered a mental disorder for a long time and tried several times to end her life, but at that time it was prevented.

"The witness said that he had asked the victim's whereabouts in the tower area, in response to residents' questions, he immediately climbed and jumped, even the statement from the family stated that the victim had suffered a mental disorder for a long time," he said.

After a post-mortem was carried out at the Cianjur Sayang Hospital, the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial and the police confirmed that the victim died by suicide by jumping from the tower of one of the providers in Mande District.
