Deputy Minister Of Social Affairs: Social Assistance Must Be Right On Target
TEMANGGUNG - Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono said that social assistance must be right on target, and used for purposes in accordance with the components in social assistance.
"For example, social assistance is then used not for daily needs, it has violated the rules," he said after reviewing the implementation of the School Environment Recognition Period (MPLS) at the Upper Medium People's School (SRMA) 16 Temanggung, Friday, July 18, reported by ANTARA.
He conveyed that the Ministry of Social Affairs wanted to ensure that the beneficiary group or recipients of the social assistance were really right on target.
"At the time, the second distribution there were several that the process was stalled. Then we brought the documents to the Financial Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK), and we also asked the President for permission. Then PPATK compared it to the population identification number (NIK)," he said.

The Deputy Minister of Social Affairs said that from the NIK, there were more than 500 thousand accounts indicated for online gambling.
"We are currently investigating whether the social assistance is used for gambling. Maybe, then someone else uses the account or then the communication tool is used by someone or the beneficiary doesn't know that playing the game turns out to be gambling," he said.
The Deputy Minister of Social Affairs emphasized that he did not want to make the wrong decision because social assistance had to be right on target.
"So, there are no actions that are immediately issued or not, this is in the process of studying, deepening, we coordinate with relevant agencies, such as PPATK, BPS, with banks so that what we will decide must be thorough," he said.
