Gibran Wants People's Schools To Make Students Learn Happy, Reluctant To Ask To Go Home

SOLO - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka advised the Principal of the Integrated Center People's School Prof. Dr. Soeharso in Solo, Central Java, so that activities at school can make students like to study, be hard and don't miss home.

This was conveyed by the Principal of the Integrated Center People's School Prof. Dr. Soeharno, Septhina, who accompanied the Vice President to review the activities of students and facilities in school dormitories.

"Mr. Vice President entrusted it to me, the important thing is that the children are hard first. So, they are happy here, don't ask to go home first, because this is just the School Environment Recognition Period," Septhina said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 18.

According to the Vice President, which was conveyed through Septhina, after students feel harsh and comfortable at school, they will be happy and motivated to study.

Septhina explained that around 200 students at the school will undergo a School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) or adaptation for the next 1 month.

MPLS on Tuesday, the 10th grade high school student will receive character education to build discipline and leadership, strengthen literacy and national insight.

Students are also involved in group extracurricular according to their respective interests and talents.

"For the new exkul we initiated, because this is a new generation, only in grade 10 (SMA). Today is just an exkul initiation, what exactly is the talent interest of these children. There have been proposals, there are music arts, there are theaters, there are lined up," said Septhina.

One of the public school students, Oktaviani, admitted that she had missed the atmosphere of the house, but she managed to adapt quickly to new friends while carrying out activities.

"It's fun, getting a lot of experience, new friends, new places, and a new environment. The facilities are also good. We learn discipline and rows in this period of introduction," he said.

Through the People's School program, the Vice President hopes that access to quality education can really be enjoyed by all levels of society, as well as breaking the chain of poverty through education obtained by the child.
