Many Foreign Citizens In South Jakarta Have Problems, Starting From Passport Cases, Overstays And Sexual Harassment
A total of 24 foreign nationals (WNA) were arrested by officers from the Class 1 Special Immigration Office for Non-TPI South Jakarta during a surveillance operation on Friday, July 18, 2025.
The arrests were made in the West Cilandak area and the Kalibata City Apartment. 22 Chinese citizens (WN) and Malaysian citizens were arrested in the West Cilandak area.
Meanwhile, 2 other foreigners were arrested at the Kalibata City Apartment. The two foreigners came from Iraq and Egypt.
"This operation is the result of the fast movement of the South Jakarta Immigration Office Inteldakim team in following up on the entry of public reports that often see foreign nationals around the Cilandak area road and the Kalibata City Apartment," said Head of the South Jakarta Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, Friday, July 18.
After examining 24 foreigners, officers found foreigners violating Immigration.
The violations of the foreigners consisted of not being able to show the passports to the officers when asked, some had overstayed, and did what was not in accordance with his residence permit (illegal work).

Meanwhile, 22 foreigners who were arrested from the Cilandak area, they worked in a number of PT. B, PT. C, PT. In T, PT. F, and PT. V.
Meanwhile, regarding foreigners in the Kalibata City apartment, officers found that 1 foreigner had a UNHCR card or asylum seeker.
Then another 1 foreigner also only holds a residence permit for a visit (ITK). Even from the report of the apartment, the foreigner is also suspected of having sexually harassed an Indonesian citizen in the apartment.
"In this case, it should be considered the provision of UNHCR cards in the future. This examination aims to ensure compliance with the applicable Immigration Laws," he said.
The 24 foreigners who violated Immigration were charged with Article 71 jo. 116 and Article 122 letter a as well as Article 75 of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
