A Year Of Operation, The Bangkinang 'XIII Koto Kampar Toll Road Is Passed By Almost 1 Million Vehicles

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) noted that the positive achievement in one year of the operation of the Bangkinang 'XIII Koto Kampar Toll Road.

The 24.7 kilometer expressway has been officially opened to the public since June 1, 2024.

Until now, the toll roads that are part of Trans Sumatra have served 980,698 vehicles or an average of 2,868 vehicles per day.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said this figure reflects the high enthusiasm and public trust in toll road infrastructure, especially in the Riau region.

He said the majority of toll users are Class I (82.49 percent) vehicles, reflecting the main utilization of the general public for daily activities, family travel, tourism to homecoming.

"This shows that the presence of this toll road really answers the need for mobility faster, more comfortable and efficient," said Adjib as quoted from his official statement, Friday, July 18.

Big Strategic And Investment Construction

The Bangkinang 'XIII Koto Kampar Toll Road is part of the Pekanbaru 'Bangkinang' Pangkalan'Payakumh' Sicincin Padang corridor which is very strategic along a total of 250.6 kilometers.

This toll road was built in 2019 and completed in 2024, with an investment value of IDR 4.8 trillion.

This project was carried out by Hutama Karya Infrastruktur, while the management of the toll road was carried out by Hutama Karya as a Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT).

Prior to full operation, this section had been tested functionally during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2023 and 2024 periods and succeeded in serving around 12,000 vehicles. This proves the readiness of the infrastructure and operational system.

Focus On Driving Safety

The Bangkinang 'XIII Koto Kampar toll road also shows good safety performance in one year of operation. The data noted that the number of traffic incidents has decreased, especially in recent months.

This is proof of the continued implementation of high safety standards and driving education.

"We continue to prioritize safety principles through traffic monitoring, counseling to users and disciplinary operational management. The public is also starting to be more aware and orderly when using toll roads," said Adjib.
