Warning Of The Great Britain Flood Until Next Saturday, Chances Of Hail
The Met Office issued an early warning of the potential for flood disasters to hit the UK for the next three days.
Citing Metro UK, Thursday, July 17, the British meteorological agency predicts that high-intensity rains that lead to flooding will hit most parts of the UK from 17-20 July 2025.
The impact of the flood could lead to power outages and the cancellation of long-distance and close-range train operations.
This extreme weather warning is in effect for parts of Northern Ireland today, which is expected to spread across much of the UK on Friday 18 July and Saturday 19 July.
For the Northern Ireland region, extreme weather warnings include areas of Londonderry/Derry, Coleraine, and Ennischillen that have the potential to be affected.
Weather status in most areas of northern, central and southern England will be at the "yellow" level for 21 hours starting at 21.00 on Friday and lasting until 18.00 on Saturday.
Warning of lightning storms at the "second yellow" level also takes effect from noon to 20.00 on Friday for the Northeastern region of England, including Leeds, York, Middlesborough, Hull, and Scarborough.
The Met Office says millions of Britons in the area are expected to be affected by having to prepare for a sudden flood that could disrupt land travel.
In addition to houses and business properties, extreme weather also has the potential to be accompanied by hail, lightning or strong winds.
