A Woman Climber From The Netherlands Fell On Mount Rinjani, Evacuated By Helicopter
The climber of a Dutch woman who lives in Denmark, Sarah Tamar van Hulten, reportedly fell on the Pelawan Sembalun route to Segara Anak Lake, Mount Rinjani on Thursday.
"We received the report this afternoon from the Mount Rinjani National Park Center (BTNGR)," said Head of the Mataram SAR Office Muhamad Hariyadi as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 17.
The Mataram SAR Office deployed personnel after receiving a report about a foreign national (WNA) from the Netherlands who lived in Denmark who had an accident while climbing Mount Rinjani.
"The rescue team from the Kayangan SAR Post will soon be dispatched. This team uses personnel trucks and carries mountaineering equipment, communication, medical, and other supporters," he explained.
Given the difficult location and conditions of the terrain, the Head of the Mataram SAR Office, Muhamad Hariyadi, did not waste time coordinating with related parties.
"Coordination is carried out with SGi Air Bali and the Head of the Denpasar SAR Office for the deployment of helicopters to speed up the evacuation process," he said.
Efforts to rescue from the air were immediately realized. The SGi Air Bali helicopter was reported to have taken off from Bali to the location of the incident on Mount Rinjani at 15.45 WITA.

For information, the victim was registered to climb Rinjani via the Sembalun Line on July 16, 2025 and went down to Segara Anak Lake on July 17, 2025. The victim reported having an accident / fell on the Pelawan Sembalun route to Segara Anak Lake and asked for evacuation assistance.
