1 Person Died, Brawler In Cibubur Still In Police Search
JAKARTA - Police are still investigating a case of a brawl between groups of teenagers suspected of killing one person on Jalan Taruna Jaya, Cibubur Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, early in the morning.
"Members are still investigating the brawl case. We have examined five witnesses," said East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Dicky Fertoffan, Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Dicky said the police were still pursuing the perpetrators of the brawl. The police are also still gathering information and evidence in the field.
"The perpetrators are still being chased by our members," said Dicky.
The exact cause and chronology of the brawl is not yet known. However, the police are committed to taking firm action against the perpetrators involved in order to maintain security and order in the Ciracas area.
The brawl went viral on Instagram social media @kabarcibubur24jam. A number of teenagers were seen carrying sharp sickle-type weapons.
They ride motorbikes slowly, then attack other groups. In the video narration, it is stated that the brawl involving this group of teenagers is from Kranggan, Bekasi and a group from one of the alleys on Jalan Taruna Jaya.
"The brawl on Jalan Taruna Jaya Cibubur, Ciracas, East Jakarta, one person died, according to information on the brawl between Kranggan's son and the child of one of the alleys on Jalan Taruna Jaya," wrote a video description uploaded by Kabarcibubur 24h.

It was also stated that the victims who died were Cibubur residents who joined the youth group from Kranggan.
"One person died who was suspected of being a child in the Rukun Cibubur alley (joining Kranggan's child during the brawl). It happened on Saturday at 03:35 WIB," continued the video caption.
The data compiled by ANTARA states that the number of cases of brawls in East Jakarta has increased significantly throughout 2024.
Data from the East Jakarta Metro Police even recorded seven cases in June, 12 cases in July and increased to 16 cases in August 2024, bringing the total to 35 cases in three months.
The Duren Sawit area is one of the vulnerable points, with five brawl incidents occurring between November and early December 2024. The areas prone to brawls include Cakung, Pasar Rebo, and Jatinegara.
