9 Indonesian Citizens In Kuala Lumpur Beaten By 9 People Because Of Noise At The Project Location
The Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Hermono confirmed that Indonesian citizens (WNI) from Madura were beaten by foreign nationals allegedly from Bangladesh, in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Ambassador Hermono stated that the case had been handled by the Malaysian Royal Police (PDRM).
"(The victim) is a person from Madura, Sampang," said Ambassador Hermono as quoted by ANTARA in Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday, July 16.
Ambassador Hermono said the victim did not die as was the issue that had circulated.
Although the victim was injured and had to undergo treatment at the hospital, now he has been discharged from the hospital.
"He has left the hospital. The victim today is on his birthday," said Ambassador Hermono.
Previously circulated on social media videos of beatings carried out by a number of people at the work project site. The perpetrators were seen wearing yellow project helmets ganging up with iron blades.
Ambassador Hermono explained that his party received a report of the beating on Monday (14/7), from one of the project employees.

The incident occurred because of a misunderstanding over the warning of noise by one of the parties.
"Because he felt he didn't accept it and was beaten," said the Ambassador.
The Ambassador has spoken with Madura figures in Malaysia, to participate in urging the Madura community in Malaysia not to take countermeasures that would complicate the problem.
The Ambassador also stated that he had received information that the perpetrators of the beating had been detained by the police and subjected to criminal elements with a threat of five years.
"This has been detained. Let the Malaysian police take action against law enforcement. Do not Madurese take their own actions. We will monitor the law enforcement process," said Ambassador Hermono.
The PDRM for the Brickfields area, Kuala Lumpur, in its official statement stated that it had arrested nine perpetrators of the beating aged 24-37 years, and confiscated evidence in the form of a yellow project safety helmet and several iron blades.
