The Arrest Of A Couple Who Dumped Babies In Cakung Was Carried Out Based On CCTV Footage
JAKARTA - A piece of will left by a baby's parents in front of a resident's house in the Cakung area, became a trace of the crime of neglecting a baby that could be revealed by the police.
Based on the traces of the will, the police then conducted an investigation by checking CCTV camera footage around the scene.
"This case was revealed because of CCTV around the location, plus an investigation effort carried out by the East Jakarta Metro Police PPA Unit and the Cakung Police in the context of resolving or handling the case," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to reporters, Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Until now, continued the Police Chief, the evidence that had been confiscated was in the form of visum et repertum (VER), the clothes of the suspects and the helem used.
"When throwing away the baby, the suspect used a motorbike. We also confiscated CCTV footage and a piece of paper written by the two suspects," he said.
The two suspects with the initials MR (20) and HAA (29) have admitted their actions.

"They throw away their baby blood because they feel ashamed and then they also feel that they have not been able to care for and finance the life of this baby," he said.
Furthermore, MR and HAA agreed to throw the baby into the Cakung area. The reason HAA dumped the baby in the Cakung area was because she had lived in the area.
"He felt that Mr. Haji was able to take care of his son so that they wrote a piece of message paper. The point was that he hoped that the baby could be treated by Mrs. Haji and Mr. Hajj who were at the crime scene," he said.
Previously, it was reported that the discovery of an innocent baby boy in front of a resident's house in RT 06/05, Ujung Krawang, Pulogebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, left a trail in the form of a 'can' letter on the side of the baby.
Ironically, the will contains a special message for the owner of the house where the baby was abandoned.
Allegedly, the parents who neglected the baby alive are local residents. The reason is, in a letter it is written the name of the owner of the house.
"Just a letter. It reads, 'Pak Haji Tohir left the child temporarily, I'll take it again later," said Haji Tohir, repeating the writing in the will, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Parents of abandoned babies also know the name of the owner of the house. In the writing of the will, the baby's parents left the baby temporarily to the owner of the house and the baby would be taken again.
