BP Haji Disbursed 3 Operational Schemes For The Development Of Hajj Villages

JAKARTA - The Hajj Organizing Body (BP) revealed that the Indonesian government has prepared three scheme options that can be implemented in the construction of Hajj Villages in Saudi Arabia.

"There are several development schemes for the Hajj Village which will be discussed further through the High Coordination Council which was formed between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Saudi Arabia," said Deputy Head of BP Haji Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak in a discussion of the most popular group entitled "Divising the Problem of Organizing Hajj" which was held by the PKS faction of the DPR reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 15.

He conveyed that the three schemes include the construction of the Hajj Village from the beginning by Danantara, the purchase of hotels to be used as Hajj Villages, or hotel imaging in Saudi Arabia.

Dahnil explained that regarding the first option, there are a number of risks that will be faced in the construction of the Hajj Village, such as the potential for a long period of development and large investment costs.

"The first scheme, it could be built from scratch by, for example, built by Danantara. With a risk, it takes time because it must be built from scratch, from zero to finished, it will definitely take time and requires a very large investment," he said.

As for the choice of the second scheme, the Indonesian government will choose a large capacity hotel to be able to accommodate all pilgrims from the country.

"Secondly, the second scheme, whether then we buy an exclusive hotel (existing), which can accommodate a large number of guests. For example, 50 thousand. Then, we acquire this, then it is changed to Hajj Village," he said.

Finally, related to the third scheme, imaging of related hotels will be carried out in a long period of time.

Of all these options, Dahnil said the determination would be made after an in-depth discussion was carried out by the High Coordination Board. Even so, according to him, President Prabowo Subianto as one of the parties who encouraged the construction of the Hajj Village had a tendency to choose development from the start.

"All of these schemes will be discussed, called the High Coordination Council, which was formed between the Government of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. There is no decision yet on which we will choose, even though the President has a tendency so that the Hajj Village can be built from the start and can be accelerated," said Dahnil.
