PT GNE's Business Corruption Case Rises Investigation, NTB Prosecutor's Office: Regarding Financial Management Assets

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has increased the handling of cases of alleged corruption in a number of business activities of PT Gerbang NTB Emas (GNE) to the investigation stage.

"We have escalated the investigation into the BUMD case. Yes (GNE), regarding the management of financial assets (capital investment)," said Head of the NTB Attorney General's Office Enen Saribanon in Mataram, Tuesday, July 15, as reported by Antara.

Regarding the basic matter of the prosecutor's office increasing the status of handling cases to the investigation stage, Enen emphasized that his party had obtained strong enough evidence.

"There is evidence of witness testimony, instructions, there is an act against the law, there are rules that are violated," he said.

For corruption issues that are synonymous with state losses, he stated that his party had received these indications.

"There are indications of losses, but not yet. Still calculated," he said.

Indications of the loss, he explained, appeared in the management of capital participation for the period 2019 to 2024 with a value of IDR 27 billion.

The types of businesses suspected of having committed criminal acts of corruption are related to timber businesses, cooperation trading with BUMDes related to the procurement of basic materials, construction of residential areas in collaboration with companies in East Lombok, and meeting the needs in Mandalika for gravel and sickles, as well as agro corn business activities.
