The M5 MacBook Pro Is Expected To Launch In The First Half Of 2026
JAKARTA - Apple's MacBook Pro M4 line, which is currently available, has been around since October 2024. However, for those expecting an update in the fall, they will have to wait longer, as the next model is rumored to be arriving in the first half of 2026.
According to a Bloomberg report on Thursday, July 10, the next MacBook Pro update will launch in early 2026. Initially, Apple planned to release an M5 update by the end of 2025, but the schedule shifted to a slower time.
This update is estimated to be only an increase in specifications, with major changes to the internal components without adding new features. However, the next model could be much more significant.
The MacBook Pro M6, which is likely to come later, is expected to have a new casing design and switch to the OLED screen.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, known as a trusted source for leaks of Apple products, has a good track record of Apple's launch schedule. However, his claims about this update contradict several other reports related to the OLED screen.

In December 2024, a screen roadmap from Omdia analysts estimated the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will come in 2026 with a hybrid OLED screen. Omdia later in July 2025 stated that an OLED update for the MacBook Pro remains expected in 2026, with the possibility of Samsung Display joining Apple's supply chain to provide OLED panels.
Gurman's claim also contradicts Apple Insider's findings, which states that product identification shows the MacBook Pro M5 will arrive in 2025, while the M6 model is expected to arrive at the end of 2026.
The MacBook Pro M6 is believed to bring a more significant upgrade. Apple's M6 chip is expected to be the first with an integrated mobile modem, allowing MacBook Pro users to connect to the internet via mobile network directly without the need for tethering to the iPhone first.
