Toyota Fortuner Causes Serial Accidents In Utan Kayu Using Fake TNI Service Plates

The East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) ensures that the black Toyota Fortuner with service plates which causes successive accidents on Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani, Matraman District, East Jakarta, is confirmed to be fake.

"We have checked, the official plate is fake and is not registered with the official institution," said Head of Traffic Unit of the East Jakarta Police, AKP Darwis when confirmed by VOI, Monday, July 14, 2025.

Kanit further said that the Toyota Fortuner should have worn a black plate, not an official plate. The car owner replaces it with an official plate, and the fake plate.

"So the Fortuner car is actually black plated but has been misused by certain parties by installing an official plate," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a series of accidents occurred during peak hours on Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani, to be precise near the Transjakarta Utan Kayu bus stop, Matraman District, East Jakarta on Friday, July 11, 2025, morning.

This time, the accident involved 5 cars and 2 motorbikes. One of the cars is known to have red official plates. However, it is not yet known who the official car belongs to.

"The chronology is still under investigation, but there are 5 vehicles involved and 2 motorbikes," said East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Deputy Chief Commissioner Sunaryo to reporters.
