The Ministry Of Public Works Immediately Repairs Six 27 Kilometer Roads In West Muna, Southeast Sulawesi

The Ministry of Public Works (PU) will immediately handle six 27 kilometers (km) of roads in West Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).

This confirms the government's commitment to accelerating the handling of regional roads to support food and energy self-sufficiency, as mandated by Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 11 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of Increasing Regional Road Connectivity.

"The handling of this road segment aims to improve the condition of provincial and district roads, so that the mobility of transportation and logistics distribution becomes more efficient and fast," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo in a written statement, Monday, July 14.

The six roads proposed for handling in West Muna Regency include two sections in Kusambi District, namely the Matarawa 'Kusambi section with a length of 4.5 km and the Guali'Kusambi section with a length of 5.1 km, the Abadi Jaya'Pajala section in Maginti District with a length of 4.85 km and the Lasosodo 'Marobea section in Sawerigadi District with a length of 7 km.

Then, two sections in Napano Kusambi District, namely the 3.95 km Kusambi Masara section and the 1.6 km Kombikuno Latawe section.

With better road conditions, Dody hopes that logistics costs can be cheaper, the distribution of food and energy products will be smoother and new business opportunities and investments will be opened in the regions.

"With the improvement of the regional road quickly and effectively, we believe that the potential for food and energy in West Muna will develop optimally and make a positive contribution to the welfare of the community," he said.

Meanwhile, West Muna Regent Laode Darwin expressed his high appreciation for the direct attention of the Ministry of Public Works to the infrastructure conditions in his area.

According to Laode, West Muna Regency has great potential in agriculture, livestock and fisheries. However, this potential is still hampered by inadequate conditions in connectivity infrastructure.

"We hope that the support from the Minister of Public Works will be realized soon, so that it can have a positive impact on the economic growth of the community and improve the quality of education in their territory," he said.
