2 Children Arrested And Chained Only Given Cassava In Boyolali, Batang Regency Government 'Moves'

The Batang Regency Government, Central Java, is coordinating with the Boyolali Regency Government regarding the repatriation of two children from Batang who are suspected of being victims of confinement and attachment by residents in Mojo Village, Boyolali Regency.

The head of the Batang Regency Social Service, Willopo, said that based on initial information, the two children were entrusted by their parents to a resident with the initials SP (65) to get religious education.

"The information is that his parents entrust their children to be students. However, why are they in chains and being held captive, that is the domain of the police. We are only trying to repatriate the two children," Willopo said when met in Batang, Antara, Monday, July 14.

His party is currently tracing the address of the parents of the two children and communicating with the Boyolali Regency Government to speed up the pick-up process.

Two children from Batang Regency who are said to have lived for a month in the residents' houses each had the initials VMR (6) and MAF (11). In addition, there are also two other children from Semarang Regency, namely SAW (14) and IAR (11).

"Yes, the information was that while being held captive and chains they were only fed cassava. Regarding one of the children who stole the charity box at the mosque on the grounds of hunger, it has entered the realm of the police," said Willopo.

The Batang Regency Government, he continued, is now waiting for the arrival of the children's parents so that the repatriation process can be carried out immediately.

"We want this problem to be handled quickly so that the children can be sent home immediately," he said.
