Good News Comes From East Belitung, 832 COVID-19 Patients Have Healed

JAKARTA - Data from the Center for Information on the Development of COVID-19 Cases in East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, recorded that 832 patients had recovered from exposure to the new coronavirus.

As reported by Antara, based on data on Wednesday, May 5, until 17.11 western Indonesia time, as many as 893 people were confirmed positive for the coronavirus, with details of 832 people having finished quarantine and isolation because they were declared cured, 51 patients were still under treatment and 10 died.

The data also recorded 1,084 residents of East Belitung who were in close contact with positive patients exposed to the new coronavirus and 69 people with the status of corona suspect.

Regional Secretary of the East Belitung Regency Government, Ikhwan Fahrozi, said the local government continues to carry out tracing of residents who have the potential to have direct contact with a positive patient of the coronavirus.

"PCR swab tests are also being carried out, as well as vaccine injections to anticipate the spread of the coronavirus," he said.

He continued to urge residents to adhere to the COVID-19 health protocol by always wearing masks, washing their hands, and keeping their distance.

"Adaptation to our new habits must change our healthy lifestyle by always adhering to health protocols," he said.
