Minister Of PKP Says Housing KUR Rules Are Being Discussed, When Will It Be Launched?
JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) has opened up about the government's plan to launch the People's Business Credit (KUR) program in the housing sector.
Ara revealed that currently regulations related to housing KUR are still being discussed by the Ministry of PKP together with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (Kemenko Perekonomian), the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).
"It is being discussed. We, right, have met many times with the Deputy Minister of BUMN, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and the Minister of Finance. Later, in due course, we will convey in full about the housing KUR," said Ara quoted on Friday, July 10.
According to Ara, his party is currently making schemes and regulations regarding housing KUR and is targeted to be completed by the end of July.
"Of course we will make a scheme and rules, it must be completed this month. We worked hard for that first," he said.
He also admitted that he could not confirm that this scheme would be more aimed at developers, consumers or both, because the regulations are still being discussed.
"Later on, we will convey it," he added.
For your information, the Ministry of PKP, BP Tapera, Danantara Indonesia and five Himbara banks are discussing the technical management of disbursement of Rp130 trillion from Danantara for housing projects.
Later, the Rp130 trillion fund from the Danantara will be used for residential People's Business Credit (KUR).

According to Ara, the disbursement of funds from Danantara was a directive from President Prabowo Subianto. Ara assessed that the housing sector also supports economic growth because it involves related industries.
Given, there are around 180 industries related to cement, sand, glass, lights and so on that contribute to the national economy.
The support of IDR 130 trillion from Danantara for the community housing program is good news.
