Minister Of Transportation Calls Implementation Of Zero ODOL Policy Resigning From 2026 Target

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi said the implementation of the zero policy of trucks in more dimensions and cargo or Over Dimension and Over Load (ODOL) will withdraw from the initial target planned to start 2026.

Dudy said the opportunity to postpone was because there were still several aspects of preparation that had to be done to ensure the ODOL truck was effective.

"Maybe yes, but I hope it won't take too long. Because if it reaches 2027, there will be more opportunities for accidents to occur," Dudy said in Jakarta, written Thursday, July 10.

Dudy explained that the initial plan for the process was carried out in the third stage, starting from socialization since June 2025, last month. However, he still sees the evaluation of every stakeholder.

Furthermore, Dudy said that the Traffic Police Corps still needs time to socialize with ODOL truck owners and drivers. At the same time, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk also needs additional time to prepare supporting facilities.

The supporting facilities in question are related to Weigh in Motion (WIM), a system that measures the weight of the vehicle when the vehicle moves on the road without having to stop.

"The Jasa Marga also still needs time to prepare facilities, for the weight in motion, the installation of the tools needed is related to updating data," said Dudy.

On the other hand, Dudy reminded truck drivers not to worry about this zero ODOL policy. Because, he said the purpose of this policy also leads to driver safety.

We care about drivers both safety and welfare. So drivers shouldn't have to worry too much because what's related to over-dimension does not only involve one party, but will be searched for until who took the initiative to make changes in dimension," he said.

"Law enforcers will look back, how dimensions are changed. That's what Korlantas said," continued Dudy.
