Commander: Major General Rizal Deserves To Be In Bulog Because Of His Experience Of Food Management

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said TNI Major General Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani deserves to be the President Director of Perum Bulog because he has qualified experience in the fields of food and agriculture.

Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, who currently serves as Commander of the Food Security Under Operations Task Force (BKO) of the Ministry of Agriculture, is considered successful in managing food security in Merauke.

"Mayjen Rizal is now in Merauke, so we assign it to optimal land sessions and we have succeeded in seeing it in Merauke. So it is eligible in the field of food security," said Agus, who is undergoing a hearing (RDP) at the DPR building, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 9.

With this background, Agus assessed that Ahmad Rizal was worthy of violating Bulog in order to help the government strengthen national food security.

In line with Agus, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin ensured that Ahmad Rizal was the right person to lead Bulog.

"He (Ahmad Rizal) is very capable, he is the Commander of the Food Security Task Force so he meets the requirements," explained Sjafrie in the same place.

Previously, the Head of the Information Center of the TNI Headquarters, Maj. Gen. Kristomei Sianturi, said that Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani was currently in the retirement period from the TNI.

The retirement application, said Kristomei, is a condition regulated in the TNI Law if there are officers who want to be placed in other positions outside the regulations.

"Currently, the process of submitting early retirement is ongoing, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws, namely Article 47 paragraph 2, Law No. 3/2025 on the TNI, that active soldiers occupy positions outside 14 Ministries/Institutions are allowed in accordance with the TNI Law," said Kristomei.

The TNI Headquarters itself respects the government's decision to appoint Rizal to be the President Director of Perum Bulog.

According to Kristomei, this step is a symbol of the government's trust in TNI agencies in advancing the country.

"This appointment is a form of synergy between the TNI and the government in supporting national food security, especially in the distribution and management of strategic food logistics," said Kristomei.

Regarding that there are still many parties who question Rizal's election procedure to become the President Director of Bulog, Kristomei ensures that his appointment has gone through applicable procedures.

"The placement of TNI soldiers in civilian positions can only be carried out at the request of agencies in need, as stipulated in the laws and regulations," Kristomei explained.
