Erick Thohir Suggests Sri Mulyani, Asks For Disbursement Of Fuel Subsidy Using Valas

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir proposed that the disbursement of subsidies and compensation for fuel oil (BBM) to PT Pertamina (Persero) could use foreign currency (foreign currency).

The request was submitted to the government through the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

According to Erick, Sri Mulyani has given the green light.

"We are lobbying again from the Minister of Finance, which is also okay. For this compensation subsidy, it can be paid in value or dollars or what kind of decision will be made," Erick said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR RI, in Jakarta, written Wednesday, July 9.

In addition, Erick also requested that the disbursement of subsidies and compensation for fuel to Pertamina be accelerated, from previously reaching 2 years to 6 months.

Erick conveyed that the request was in line with the submission of an additional budget for the Ministry of SOEs for the 2026 budget year of Rp454 billion, from the 2026 indicative ceiling of Rp150 billion.

So that the total budget next year can reach IDR 604 billion.

"Our Ministry of SOEs needs funding of approximately Rp. 604 billion," he said.

Escorting BUMN Assignment

Later, said Erick, the additional budget will be allocated to support the work program of the Ministry of SOEs and oversee government assignments.

"The government's assignment, including removing books, removing collections. Not to mention later from Danantara there is a restructuring plan. We will also assist and assist from Danantara activities," explained Erick.

In addition, said Erick, the additional budget will provide future reciprocity for the country.

With improved performance, Erick believes that SOEs will provide large dividends to the state through Danantara.

"Well, so we don't call it a burden on state finances. But we believe we will also make additional contributions to the country," said Erick.

Not only that, Erick also mentioned efforts to improve the performance of SOEs with the status of Perum.

Erick said that Perum BUMN will also contribute dividends to the state.

"Later, Perum, I am sure that in the future there will be dividends as well. We will project that maybe from Perum it can be Rp. 200 to Rp. 300 billion, we will give it to the state too," he said.
