TNI Headquarters Ensures Major General Ahmad Rizal Is Undergoing The Retirement Process

Head of the Information Center of TNI Headquarters Major General Kristomei Sianturi said TNI Major General Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani is currently in retirement period from the TNI.

The retirement application, said Kristomei, is a condition regulated in the TNI Law if there are officers who want to be placed in other positions outside the regulations.

"Currently, the process of applying for early retirement is ongoing, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws, namely Article 47 paragraph 2, Law No. 3/2025 on the TNI, that active soldiers occupy positions outside 14 Ministries/Institutions are allowed in accordance with the TNI Law," Kristomei said in a press release reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 9.

The TNI Headquarters itself respects the government's decision to appoint Rizal as President Director (Director) of Perum Bulog.

According to Kristomei, this step is a symbol of the government's trust in TNI agencies in advancing the country.

"This appointment is a form of synergy between the TNI and the government in supporting national food security, especially in the distribution and management of strategic food logistics," said Kristomei.

Regarding that there are still many parties who question Rizal's election procedure to become the President Director of Bulog, Kristomei ensures that his appointment has gone through applicable procedures.

"The placement of TNI soldiers in civilian positions can only be carried out at the request of agencies in need, as stipulated in the laws and regulations," Kristomei explained.

Previously, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir confirmed the appointment of Major General TNI Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani as President Director of Perum Bulog replacing Lt. Gen. Novi Helmy Prasetya.

"It's been (the new Director of Perum Bulog), yesterday Pak Novi was asked by the Commander to serve again in the TNI. There is a new president director," said Erick in Jakarta, Tuesday (8/7).

The appointment of Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani is stated in the Decree of the Minister of SOEs Number: SK 192/MBU/07/2025 dated July 3, 2025.

Erick could not explain in detail the re-pointment of TNI members as Director of Perum Bulog.

According to him, the task of absorbing Bulog rice has been achieved so that the next assignment is left to the new Bulog leader.

"They (the TNI) want to withdraw their assignment, maybe it is considered finished. Now, for next year there will be a task to absorb again, for farmers," he added.
