Police Have Not Revealed The Cause Of Death Of The Indonesian Foreign Ministry Diplomat Whose Head Is Wrapped In Lakban

The motive for the death of Arya Daru Pangayunan (39), a Diplomat of Young Experts from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with his head wrapped in yellow duct tape, has yet to be revealed by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim.

Currently, the police are still waiting for the results of the autopsy on the body of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomat.

"The motive is not yet known, we are still investigating. There are no signs of violence outside visas," said Meteng Metro Police Chief, Kompol Rezha Rahandhi when confirmed, Wednesday, June 9, 2025.

Meanwhile, police found fingerprints on duct tape wrapped around the victim's head.

"From the initial crime scene, the victim's fingerprints were still visible (on duct tape)," he said.

The duct tape evidence is still being examined in the forensic laboratory. Apart from duct tape, other evidence is still under investigation.

"We took it to the lab," he said.

Meanwhile, based on witness testimony, the police stated that the victim had no enemies.

Previously, the body of Arya Daru Pangayunan (39), a young diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) was taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of his death.

"When found, the victim was lying on the bed with his head covered with duct tape and his body covered with a blanket," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, Tuesday (08/07/2025).

The police chief emphasized that his party was still conducting further investigations by examining a number of witnesses, CCTV footage, and collecting evidence at the location.
