PT Putri Samawa Sealed By KemenP2MI For 'Reduce Teaching,' Minister Karding Throws Warning At Other Companies

BEKASI - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) imposed sanctions on PT Putri Samawa Mandiri by partially stopping the activities of the Indonesian migrant worker placement company (P3MI) for three months.

The sanction was given because the company was proven to have committed serious violations by not fulfilling the rights of 325 Indonesian candidates and migrant workers. The total demands in this case reached Rp6.3 billion.

Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Minister Abdul Kadir Karding said the process of handling the case had been going on for more than two years, since the first complaint was received until the delegation of cases from the Ministry of Manpower returned to the Ministry of P2MI.

"Actually, this case was reported by the agency at that time around 2024 to the Ministry of Manpower, then some time ago it was returned to us and we are processing it," said Karding in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 8.

During the sanctions period, PT Putri Samawa Mandiri was prohibited from conducting the selection process and processing documents for the placement of Indonesian migrant workers abroad.

Karding emphasized that his party would act decisively against placement companies that were proven to abuse their authority and play games with the fate of migrant workers.

"To all Indonesian migrant worker placement companies, don't play games. Don't try to do business in unhealthy ways, by taking advantage of people's difficulties," said Karding.

He also emphasized that his party would not hesitate to take legal action against serious violations that harm migrant workers.

"We will definitely look for it, we will definitely punish it, and we will definitely imprison it if there is a criminal element," he said.
