Regarding The Continuation Of Oil And LPG Imports From The US, Deputy Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources: Still Waiting For Airlangga's Negotiated Results
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is still waiting for the results of the meeting of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto with the United States regarding the 32 percent tariff policy imposed by President Donald Trump on products from Indonesia.
Just so you know, Indonesia previously offered a trade balance with plans to import oil and a $ 15 billion Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
"So the Coordinating Minister for the Economy (Airlangga) is still working on it. We are already offer to trade balance from an energy perspective of around 15 billion US dollars. We'll see how the final decision will be," said Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Yuliot Tanjung to the media crew, Tuesday, July 8.
However, Yuliot did not explicitly say that he would cancel the import plan, but he ensured that Indonesia was still waiting for the results of further negotiations carried out by Airlangga.
"So we are waiting for Ak Airlangga," said Yuliot.
Just so you know, the Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Haryo Limanseto, said that the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, was continuing his visit to Washington DC, United States on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
"After the United States (US) Government's statement regarding the latest policy on import rates for Indonesia, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto continued his trip to Washington DC, United States," he said in his statement, Tuesday, July 8.

He added that this visit was carried out in response to the latest statement by the United States Government regarding the import tariff policy against Indonesia.
"Coordinating Minister Airlangga is scheduled to hold a meeting with representatives of the US Government to discuss the decision on US President Donald Trump's tariff for Indonesia that has just left," he said.
Haryo said that the Indonesian government views that dialogue is still open and will take advantage of this opportunity optimally to safeguard and protect national interests in the future.
