Jakarta Parking Retribution Target Drops IDR 50 Billion, DKI DPRD Values Troubled Management
JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has proposed a decrease in the target of parking retribution income in changes to the 2025 budget year. Initially, it was agreed that the parking retribution target would be IDR 350 billion.
However, in the draft amendment to the Draft Amendment to the General Policy of the APBD and the Draft Change of Priority and Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) of the APBD for Fiscal Year 2025, the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) asked for the parking retribution target to be reduced by IDR 50 billion to IDR 300 billion.
Members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Budget Agency (Banggar) questioned this. He suspects that there is a mismanagement of parking income by the Parking Unit (UP) of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency.
"We are asking why, because of the potential for parking, we see that it is still large. However, the problem is in management, and there may also be a potential leak," said Suhud when met at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Tuesday, July 8.
Suhud revealed that Bapenda admitted that the Parking UP is projected to only be able to reap parking retribution income of up to Rp300 billion by the end of this year.
However, according to Suhud, this cannot be an excuse. This is because parking retribution income is considered to be higher than the initial target if the Transportation Agency is able to optimize parking income from a total of 244 roads in Jakarta and eradicate illegal parking to completion.
"We are still pushing for an increase in the retribution target, because in our calculations it can also be more than the current figure because there are many cases also in several places, which in quotes there is a leak," he said.

Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman of Commission C of the DKI Jakarta DPRD said that his party would again summon Bapenda and UP Parking Dishub DKI to ask for an explanation of the target reduction in work meetings on Wednesday, July 9.
Along with that, Suhud also hopes that the DKI DPRD Parking Special Committee will immediately issue recommendations for improving parking governance in Jakarta which will later be outlined in regional regulations (perda).
"There is a suggestion from friends (Pansus) for the disbandment of the Parking UP, then it is changed to BUMD management. There are many options that Special Committee friends are currently doing, are studying. Hopefully the Parking Committee can immediately provide solutions," he added.
